These are the conditions of booking on BE A HAPPY TOURIST The contract between the parties is made on the terms outlined herein. Because our Terms & Conditions contain legal obligations, we encourage you to read them carefully. They form the basis on which bookings are accepted by BE A HAPPY TOURIST. By using www.beahappytourist.gr or any affiliated website, you agree to be legally bound by these terms, which shall take effect immediately. BE A HAPPY TOURIST may change online these Terms & Conditions at any time.
BE A HAPPY TOURIST (BHT) SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
All details of walking tours, short tours, private tours, and any other services offered by BHT are described on the website www.beahappytourist.gr .
BHT programs require the participation of minimum persons. This number may vary in certain programs. You may see the minimum number of participants per program, in detail, on our website. BHT reserves the right to cancel a program at any given time, up to 24 hours before the tour commences and for any reason whatsoever, including cases where the number of participants is insufficient for the program to take place. In the unlikely event that a program is cancelled by BHT, participants will receive a full refund of their payment or they will be entitled to reschedule the program on another date. In this case, BHT shall not be held liable for any expenses, including airline ticket costs or other personal expenses incurred by customers.
With regard to all programs (tours and cooking lessons) BHT reserves the right to change the routes, if the route is disrupted or if realization of the program is prevented by unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of BHT, such as, for example, road closures in the center of Athens.
• BHT daily tours take place on a demand/scheduled basis and usually are not subject to changes due to weather conditions, as Athens is sunny almost all year round
• Our programs do not take place on official holidays (December 25 & 26, New Year’s Day, Good Friday until 12:00 hrs, Easter Sunday, May 1, October 28 and March 25 – National Holidays).
• In the event that a customer has cancelled a tour or food in writing, the following penalty clauses shall hereby be agreed upon:
– Up to 72 hours prior to the scheduled tour: The customer shall not incur a penalty charge, apart from the charge due to BHT for the use of a credit card.
– Between 72 and 24 hours prior to the scheduled tour: The customer shall incur 50% of the amount payable for the tour as a penalty charge, plus any other expenses, i.e. credit card charges or cancellation charges for means of transportation that may have been reserved for the tour.
– Less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled tour or if customers do not show up at the agreed meeting point: 100% of the amount payable shall be withheld as compensation for the cancellation of participation in the program.
If, unexpectedly, on the date of the tour, unforeseen events make the completion of the program impossible (e.g. strikes of employees at archaeological sites), BHT shall consult with the customers and do everything possible to offer an alternative solution. If an alternative solution is not found or agreed upon, then either BHT or the customer may cancel the tour. In the event that a tour is cancelled for any of the above reasons, BHT shall refund the full amount paid by the customer for the tour and 50% of the amount payable for the cancellation of any means of transportation, if such has been reserved for the tour.
Multi-day tours: once booked, cancellations 100% apply for those cancelled 1-15 days prior to tour departure date and time and 30% apply for those cancelled 16-30 days prior to tour departure date and time. Detailed cancellation policy is written on your voucher / ticket.
Refunds take place 4 weeks after the cancellation date. 3% commission is kept for credit card refunds if you cancel the tour. If the tour is cancelled by us, no commission is kept.
Gift Certificate, Special offers & Early Booking offers: Gift certificate, Special offers & Early Booking offers are non-cancellable and are non-refundable.
Cancellations by BHT or its suppliers: We reserve the right to cancel any of the services, without any penalties beyond offering a full refund.
Amendments: On site amendments are aloud subject to availability up to 1 hour prior to departure. Fast-track entrance tickets, theatre tickets, boat trips or cruises cannot be amended. BHT does not charge a fee to amend or change the dates of an existing booking, as long as the request is received by our Customer Care team more than three (3) days ahead of your confirmed travel date. All other date-change requests and amendments are subject to availability by our suppliers and/or service providers;
Lost property: Whilst every effort is made to return lost property, BHT cannot be held responsible for property left on the coach. Property found must be collected from our office at 8, Pyrgou Varibobis st., Acharnes, Athens, for those participating in our BHT daily tours. All the other should speak with their local provider.
Personal insurance: Is not included. Please discuss this with your Travel Agent or your Insurance broker.
Luggage: Overnight Tours the allowance is one suitcase not exceeding 20kg (44lb) in weight. A small amount of hand luggage is permissible. Luggage is carried at the passengers own risk and must be collected by the client.
Tour information: While touring, please note that seats are on a first come first serve basis. We may, at our discretion, require any person to withdraw from any tour if we deem their acts or conduct offensive or a nuisance to other passengers, and we shall have no further liability. We reserve the right to cancel any tours due to lack of demand and also to use vehicles as dictated by demand. We also reserve the right to alter at any time any price, place visited, itinerary or hotel owing to unforeseen circumstances. Every endeavour will be made to advise passengers in advance of any alterations which are deemed necessary.
In the event of any passenger not being carried for any cause whatsoever, no liability will be accepted by the operators beyond the refund of the fares. Should the passenger fail to arrive or arrive late at the starting point or during the tour, then no liability whatsoever can be entertained.
Voucher / ticket: You will receive a personalized BHT TOURS Voucher for each tour, transfer, event or service booked. You must provide signed the original, authentic BHT TOURS Voucher to the appropriate service provider in order to redeem your tour, ticket, or package.
Passports & visas: A Passport valid for all countries to be visited must be carried and it is your responsibility to ascertain from your Travel Agent what visas are required.
Accident or Loss: We have no liability for loss, damage , delay, inconvenience, or direct or consequential loss, however caused, unless due to our employees’ negligence, in which case our liability is limited (except for death or personal injury) to a maximum of the refund of the tour cost. We do not own or manage the, ships, vehicles, accommodation and restaurants used and we have no liability for loss or damage caused by the proprietors or operators thereof. Baggage is at owner’s risk throughout the tours.

Third Party Products: Tickets bought through third party suppliers may carry a different set of terms of conditions for which we are not responsible. Please note that on you voucher/tickets cancellations details will be written.
